The Garden of Eden Preservation Society was formed in 1983 to accomplish the task of restoring the historic A.A. Arnold farmstead or Eastside Farm which the organization purchased in 1982.

In 2000, the Society signed a 50 year lease with the city of Galesville, WI for the main building on the old Gale College campus. This building is known affectionately as "Old Main" but its official name is the Old Main Historical & Community Arts Center.

Both Eastside Farm and the Old Main Historical & Community Arts Center fall under the direction of the Garden of Eden Preservation Society. The Society is a non-profit organization who's mission is:

"To foster the discovery, collection, preservation and publication of historical records and data and to preserve historic buildings and property in Galesville, Wisconsin and surrounding areas."

If you are interested in becoming a member or would like additional information on the Society and its groups, please contact us.
